WICKS, head, widower, aged 39, bookbinder, born at Reading, Berkshire; *George C. WICKS, son, aged 14, bookbinder, born at Truro; Emily WICKS, daughter, aged 11, born at Truro; Alfred WICKS, son, aged 10, born at Truro; Fredrick (sic) WICKS, son, aged 8, born at Truro; Florence WICKS, daughter, aged 6, born at Truro; Ada WICKS, daughter, aged 4, born at Truro; Catherine DONITHORNE, aged 30, domestic servant, born at Penzance, Cornwall. (RG11/2311/40/2) He was living at 10 Pydar Street, Truro, in 1891: George Thomas WICKS, head, aged 49, a bookbinder, born at Reading in Berkshire; Ruth WICKS, wife, 49 years old, born at Wisbech, Cambridgeshire; *George C. WICKS, boarder, aged 38, single, bookbinder, was boarding at the house of Frederick and George EVANS. (RG13/2221/98/5) In Kelly's Directories for 1902 and 1906 George Charles WICKS, bookbinder, was listed at 27 St. Clement Street and 12 Stratton Terrace, Truro. There was no mention of him in the 1910 directory. George Charles WICKS of St. George's Road, Truro, appeared in the 1907-1908 Register of Electors. The index to the 1911 census shows that a George C. WICKS and a Julia WICKS were living together in Truro. She was 53 years old. There is little doubt that she was the Julia BROMHAM widow to whom probate of his will was granted the following year. His death aged 47 was registered in 1912. (GRO March Q 1912 Truro 5c 191) George Charles WICKS of 14 St. George's Road, Truro, died aged 47 on 29 January 1912. Probate was granted at London on 19 March to Julia BROMHAM, widow.
