It was taken by J. Stringfellows, Chapel Walk, Fargate, Sheffield, between 1871 and 1889. Henry Edgoose and his wife were living in Sheffield for several years before emigrating to Aberdeen, South Dakota.

The house may once have been occupied by a member of the West Walton EDGOOSE family when it was known by a number and not a name. More research on this website will reveal the number which can then be checked against online estate agent's valuations which give a house number and a photograph.
