The will of his father-in-law Thomas HAMERTON made on 10 October 1679 included the following:
"It I give unto James EDGOOSE my Boate".
"....... but if the said Alse my Wife doe chance marrie againe then my will is that shee the said Alse shall pay forty shilling to RACHEL EDGOOSE, the child of my daughter Alse, and if it die then I give to the next Child of Alse."

He was appointed to serve as a fenreeve for the following year at the Court held on 2 April 1703.

At the Manor Court held on 17 October 1712 (at which John EDGOOSE was a juror for Pinchbeck) he was presented for allowing water from his ditch called Hempdike to run into Moneybridge Lane to the annoyance of the tenants of the Manor. He was fined 12 pence and ordered to remove the water before November 11th next or forfeit six shillings and eight pence to the Lord of the Manor:
"Item Jur' pred'c'i presentant q'd Jacobus EDGOOSE p'misit aquam ex fossa sua vocat his Hempdike currere in locum vocat Money Bridge lane ad Nocumentum tenen' hujus Maner' J'o est in n'ma D'ne Maner' pred' xij d. Et ordinant q'd amovebit Eand' ante Vno decimu' diem Novembris p'x' sequen' sub pena forisfaciend' D'ne Maner' pred' vj s. viij d." (SGS 3 folio 194).
At the Manor Court held on 24 April 1713 (at which John EDGOOSE and Thomas EDGOOSE were jurors for Pinchbeck) it was presented that "Jacobus EDGOOSE posuit ffundibulum brevius quam debet esse in Via vocat Money bridge lane J'o est in n'na D'ne Maner' pred' vj d. Et ordinant q'd idem faciet sufficiens ante Vicesimum diem Maij p'x' sequen' sub pena foris faciend D'ne Maner' pred' v s."

Translation:
Item: the jurors aforesaid present that James EDGOOSE has laid a foundation shallower than it ought to be in Money Bridge Lane, Therefore he is in mercy to the Lady of the aforesaid manor 6d. And they order that he should make it sufficient before the twentieth day of May next following, under pain of forfeiting to the Lady of the aforesaid manor 5s.
James EDGOOSE, husbandman, was buried at Pinchbeck on 11 July 1715.
Alice EDGOOSE, his widow, was buried on 9 May 1716.
