      NOTES & QUERIES:
Robyn HASELFOOT wrote: "I came across your entry about Charles G. GILMORE while doing some research on my own family. My grandmother was Anne W. CHATER who he married shortly before his death, having been friends for several years. My granny married again (and became Anne HASELFOOT), but never really got over the loss of her first husband, and wore their wedding ring until she died, though could speak little of him. He studied at LSE in London, where he became president of the students' union. I think he was the first in his family to go to university. From the condolence letters I have read that were kept by my granny, it is evident he was very highly regarded. It was a tragic loss."
