      The date and place of his marriage to Alice has not been traced.

      "In the name of God amen I Thomas HAMERTON of Pinchbeck in the county of Lincolne Labourer being sicke in body, but of [good] and perfect memory praised be God doe make and ordaine this my last will and Testament , in manor and form following this tenth day of October 1679
      Imprimis I give and bequeath my soule into the hand [of] Almighty God trusting to be saved by the alone merits of J(esus) Christ my saviour and redeemer, and my body to be buried by the discrestion of my executrix, all my worldly goods I bequeath as followeth.
      Imprimis I give unto William HAMERTON my sonne one shilling
      It(em) I give unto Millicent the daughtrer of William HAM(M)ERTON forty shillings to be paid into the hand of Richard GILL by my executrix with one yeare next after my diseas(e) to go use upon use untel shee shall attaind the age of one and twenty yeares if she die before the age of aforesaid then I give it to (ne??est) of my Kindred then living
      It(em) I give unto Thomas HAMERTON my sonne six pounds to be paid into the hand of Richard GILL by my executrix three pounds within the first yeare after my desease and three pounds the next yeare followeing for his use also give him all my apparell

      It(em) I give unto Richard GILL haulfe a Crowne to buy h(im) gloves
      It(em) I give all the rest of my goods and Chattles unto Al(se) my Wife whome I make my soule executrixe b(ut) if the said Alse my Wife doe chance marrie againe then my will is that she the sa(id) Alse shall pay forty shilling to Rachel EDGOOSE, t(he) Child of my daughter Alse, and if it die then I give to the next Child of Alse.
