      "My dear Margaret,
I have been meaning to write to you for some time to thank you for your very interesting letter you sent me last December but the Xmas rush inhibited me.
You told me of Alice's travels & how she made the world her oyster! I wonder if she has returned to Tasmania which is so much in our minds after the fire disaster.
I wonder if John knows Dr. Desmond NIXON who preaches near Eynsford - he is Paulette's first husband and we are very good friends in spite of the divorce.
Our marriage seems to be a great success in spite of the difference in our ages - I hope you will come & see us when next you come to London as I am sure you would like her. We may be coming to York for a summer school at the end of next.ml a member of the Lincs. Historical Socy. & this year it is holding its summer school in combination with Hull & York university.
I am enclosing a Photo copied from an old faded photo taken by Nainby of Alford in 1892. Not as good as I hoped but thought you would like to see David and Mamie as they then were. I just remember Sophie HARDANGER visiting my step-mother.e helped to send Mamie and then David to us from U.S.A. & I think she was a Norwegian - I wonder if it rings a bell! I have another snap of either you or Alice as a baby sitting on my knee at Sutton-on-Sea that I fear you will not remember!
We send our love to you both.
      Bob."
