      NOTES & QUERIES:
His niece Wendy HELMS wrote in April 2013:
"I was recently directed to your website for information about my uncle, John D. HINCHCLIFF. He died of stomach cancer in 1977 having living for many years in Eynsford, Kent. I was curious about not being able to find evidence of John's OBE though I had been shown the medal by his wife, Enid, in 1988. I believe he got the award for developing equipment for the postal service which greatly enhanced efficiency."
