    Elizabeth PILKINTON was born in 1736, daughter of Thomas and Sarah PILKINTON. Thomas PILKINGTON had married Sarah MILLER at Stamford St. George, Lincolnshire, on 11 April 1725. A date of birth in 1736 before 22 April is consistent with an age of 24 years on 12 July 1761 (i.e. born in 1736 or 1737) and 30 years on 22 April 1766 (i.e. born in 1735 or 1736). A record of her baptism has not been found.

    James EDGOOSE and Elizabeth PILKINGTON were married by licence at Stamford All Saints on 12 July 1761. James EDGOOSE was 21 years old, a bachelor and a tailor. Elizabeth PILKINGTON was a 24 year old spinster. She signed her name 'PILKINTON'. Witnesses were John WOOLLMAN and John FOUNTAIN. John WOOLLMAN, slater, of Stamford All Saints signed the Marriage Bond.

    William, son of James and Elizabeth EDGOSS (sic), was baptised at Stamford St. George on 18 March 1764.

    An Elizabeth EDGOOSE, aged 30, wife of James EDGOOSE, was buried at Spalding, Lincolnshire, on 22 April 1766.

    She was not mentioned in the will of her sister Sarah PILKINTON in 1780 although her children William EDGOS and Mary EDGOS were.

    Her daughter Mary EDGOSS married Richard LIGHTFOOT, tailor, at Stamford St. George on 26 March 1782. Witnesses were Mary PILKINTON (probably her aunt) and John COLE.

    She was described in the will of her mother Sarah PILKINTON as the late sister of her son George PILKINTON. Her daughter Mary (LIGHTFOOT) was also mentioned.
