  ELIZABETH BALES née .......... 1832 or 1833- The 1851 census returns for Spalding appear to indicate that she and her son were born at Hitchin, Herefordshire (sic) (presumably a misprint for Hertfordshire). (HO107/2096/400) Was her son Benjamin Grant BALES named after her maiden name - GRANT?
