An Index of the Will of Sarah PILKINTON formerly MILLER (17??-1785), widow, of Stamford, Lincolnshire. The Will was made on 17 December 1782. Probate was granted on 4 July 1785.

John (x) COOPER of Welchersdam married a Sarah PILKINTON (sic) spinster of this parish at Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, on 29 January 1792 by licence. Witnesses were Thomas PAYNE, Mary PAYNE, and Thomas NEWITT jun.

No proof that this is the correct Jane, but no COOPER/PILKINTON marriage was found in the LFHS Marriage Index. No other PILKIN(G)TON marriages at Chatteris. Interestingly, Sarah PILKINTON's brother William (1766-1812) had married a Sarah PAYNE at Stamford St. Michael in 1789.
A Sarah COOPER, wife of John COOPER farmer, was buried at Chatteris on 12 September 1804 aged 33 [i.e. born in 1770 or 1771]
