  ROBERT PILKIN(G)TON 1693- Robert, son of Robert and Elizabeth PILKINGTON (sic), was baptised at Stamford St. George on 23 May 1693. (BVRI) A Robert PILKINGTON married Alice HAWKINS at Stamford St. John on 18 December 1715. (FamilySearch) Thomas BRINGHURST was apprenticed to Robert PILKINTON of Lincoln, carpenter, for 7 years from 1 May 1717. Fee £8 paid 3 May 1717. Tax of 4s. was paid on 9 July 1717. (IR 5/152/3) NOTES & QUERIES: Pilkington, Robert, senior (fl. 1714-36). Carpenter. The younger Robert became freeman in 1714 and worked for the Town between 1727 and 1736. In 1725-6 he worked at the George Hotel (239) making the S. stair in 1726"? His father, also Robert, worked for the Town 1709-22 and did maintenance work at Browne's Hospital; he died in 1723.
