He married Rose SINYARD at Cass, Illinois, USA, on 5 January 1887. (Illinois Statewide Marriage Index 1763-1900) However, an announcement in the Wheaton Illinoian of 10 December 1886 page 1 column 3 announced that the marriage would take place at Cass, Illinois, on 30 December 1886: "Charles OLDFIELD, having secured a fine ranch of 320 acres in Colorado, and built a good house, is about to furnish music in his cage, Thursday, Dec. 30, 1886. He will marry Miss Rose SINYARD, and New Year's evening their friends are invited to the grand infair at Jessie OLDFIELD's."
