"My mother was born in London and remembered standing with the crouds to see 15 or so Monarchs passing by at Edward the Seventh's funeral. Although my father was born in NZ he too was staunchly British and called England "Home". He had 2 brotherrs and all 3 served in Europe in WW1. Ullett was infantry served on Galipolli and in Europe and won the MM. Roland was a machine gunner and was wounded in France. Dad (BANKS) was in the NZ Tunnelling Company in France. All 3 returned home safely but one of their sisters Millicent died in the 1918 flu epidemic, bizarre that isn't it?"
