  HORACE LEEDER 1890-1980 Horace LEEDER, the illegitimate son of Hester LEEDER formerly WINTER, a domestic servant at Billingford, was born on 28 July 1890 at Union House, Gressenhall, Norfolk. Hester LEEDER's address was given as Union House, Gressenhall. (GRO certificate) Fred LEEDER has not been traced in the 1881 or 1891 census, but in 1891 his 31 year old wife was an inmate at the Mitford and Launditch Union Workouse at Gressenhall in Norfolk together with their children Maves (sic) aged 8, Maude aged 6, and Horace aged 1. All three children were born at Billingford in Norfolk. (RG12/1555/101/2) According to the 1901 census Honor LEEDER was an 18 year old dressmaker. She was still living with Henry and Susanna MILLER together with their eight year old son Harry R. MILLER and their ten year old nephew Horace LEEDER. Their address was 20 Malthouse Cottages, East Dereham, Norfolk. (RG13/1872/96/35) The 1911 census of 20 Malthouse Cottages, East Dereham, Norfolk: Henry MILLER, head, aged 53, railway signalman, Herthersett, Norfolk; Susanna MILLER, wife, married 27 years, aged 54, born at Longham, Norfolk; Harry Robert MILLER, son, single, aged 18, agricultural machinist, born at East Dereham, Norfolk; *Horace LEEDER, nephew, single, aged 20, machinist driller, born at Gressenhall, Norfolk. (RG14PN11519/RD232/SD4/ED5/SN82) The marriage between a Horace LEEDER and a Florence C. A. HOWE was registered in 1922.
