In reply to your air letter enquiring about details of the life of my late husband, Elmitt Jesse Edgoose and also his father, John J. Edgoose, I have gathered some photographs and clippings which may be of use to you.
The following is a brief resume of my husband's life and career:-
ELMITT JESSE EDGOOSE, 3rd son of JOHN J. EDGOOSE,
Born Leopold, Victoria, 20-4-1981, while father was a teacher there.
Joined Victorian Education Department after leaving school and taught in many country schools throughout Victoria.
While teaching at Murloor in 1910, married Miss Ethel Beyer, of St. Arnaud.
Two sons of marriage -
Vernon Elmitt, born 19-12-1911 now a School Teacher
Herbert Leslie, born 27-5-1916 now a Bank Manager.
My husband was very interested in sport of all kinds and took an active part in cricket, tennis and bowls. Member of Masonic Lodge for many years.
Retired from Education Department, March, 1952.
Deceased 4-11-1952.
I have forwarded the photographs and clippings by ordinary mail.
