      An email dated 25 November 2017 from Nancy EVANS-WILLIAMS concerning Frank William HORRY DFM DFC
      and her father Edmund (Taff) EVANS relates how they flew together in No. 40 Squadron (RAF) during World War 2. They flew in Wellington bombers with Frank as the pilot and Taff as the wireless operator, beginning on 1 January 1943. The following details are taken from her father's flying log:
      "1.1.1943 P/O HORRY DFM W/Op Edmund (Taff) EVANS).
      21.45 hours on Wellington DV931(v) based in Malta. Operations - Docks v shipping at Palermo 4 x 500lb & 7 x 250lb dropped night run - flying time 4 hours. 45 minutes".

      Frank HORRY was promoted to Flight Officer from Pilot Officer between 1 and 10 January 1943. The two men continued to fly together out of Egypt during February 1943.

      The log of their final flight together:
      "4 7 1943 ; 22.30 ; Wellington III HZ 119T ; F/O Horry DFM was the Pilot'; Edmund 'Taff'Evans was W/Op ; Operation was Villacidro aerodrome - Sardinia
      dropped 6 x 500lbs; 4 x 250lb; 2 x S.B.C's - Night flying time 4 hours 40 mins"
