The Will of John ROBINSON of Pinchbeck, yeoman, who was buried on 15 May 1696.
"In the name of God Amen I John ROBINSON of Pinchbeck in the Countie of Lincoln yeom(an) [words and phrases illegible] of sound minde & disposeing (illegible) thanks be to Almighty God for it doe make & ordeyne this my last will & Testament in mainior & form following First I bequeath my soule into the hands of Almighty God my (illegible) hopeing for nor doubting of a Joy full resurrection through the alone merritt of my blessed Lord & Savior Jesus Christ & my body to the Earth from whence it came to be decently interred at the Discretion of my Executor hereafter named And for my worldly goods which God of his great Mercy hath here for a time lent me I Give and dispose there of as followeth
Imprimis I Give unto my deare & loveing wife for her debt (over one line obliterated or crossed through) One cottage & two Acres of land & pasture lying in Pinchbeck which I purchased of Peter BROWNE & now in tenure of Samuell ENDERBY and ensient with child by me lawfully beggotten I doe therefore give & devise to such childe & its heires forever (be the same male or female) after my sd wifes decease the said cottage & two Acres And likewise Give to such child & its heires forever all & every other my lands and Tenem(en)ts whatsoever & wheresoever.
Item if it shall happen that my said wife be not with child by me begotten as aforesaid or that such Child shall depart before it attaine the Age of one & twenty yeares & without Issue of its body lawfully begotten then I Give & devise unto my loveing sister Elizabeth the wife of Mr Joseph BURTON (reserving my wifes life in the said cottage & two acres devised to her as aforesaid) All & every my lands & Tenem(en)ts whatsoever and wheresoever To hold to her my sister BURTON dureing her naturall life & to the heires of her body lawfully begotten or to be begotten & for want of such Issue I Give the same unto my Kinsman Richard ROBINSON of Pinchbeck aforesaid Butcher & to his heires & Assignes forever
Item I give unto my said sister BURTON five pounds and to the poore of Pinchbeck twenty shillings and to Mr Theophilus BUCKWORTH aforesaid twenty shillings all which legacies I will shall be paid within one yeare after my decease.
