John Frederick BUCHAN, born at Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and son of John BUCHAN and his wife Sarah formerly HANLON. married Meriam EDGOOSE at Superior, Wisconsin, USA, on 19 July 1904. She was the daughter of Henry EDGOOSE and Annie formerly RENNISON.

Margaret BUCHAN, daughter, aged 3, born in Wisconsin.

John F. BUCHAN died at St. Mary's Hospital, Detroit, Michigan, on 5 December 1912 from a ruptured femoral artery following a fracture of his femur after accidentally falling down the stairs on or about 22 November 1912. He was described as a machinist, aged 30 years 6 months and 2 days (i.e. born on 3 June 1881), place of birth Canada. His father was John Buchan, also born in Canada, and his mother was Sarah HOULIN or HONLIN, born in Nova Scotia. He was buried on 9 December 1912.

NOTES & QUERIES:
According to the 1910 US Federal Census Miriam had been married for 6 years, i.e she had married in 1904 and not 1905. The Wisconsin Marriage Index 1836-1930 may be at fault.
