  JOHN BALDRY 1842 or 1843-1884 MARY EDGOOSE married JOHN BALDRY at St. Mark's Church, Chicago, on 14 January 1873. (Cook County, Illinois, marriage licence 7750) The 1873 Chicago City Directory lists JOHN BALDRY at 55 N. Erie, and the 1874-5 and 1875-6 directories list him at 68 Bismark. He was a blacksmith. According to http://stevemorse.org JOHN BALDRY, a 40 year old blacksmith, arrived at New York from Liverpool England on 13 August 1879 aboard the Scythia. On the same ship was a 17 year old spinster ELIZABETH EDGOORE (sic), perhaps his wife MARY's illegitimate daughter LIZZIE EDGOOSE. JOHN BALDRY died at the age of 41 on 2 February 1884 and was buried at Rosehill Cemetery. (revised 05.08.2005)
