  PIELA, Joseph (???? -1963) [surnames capitalised] According to his great granddaughter (LIVING) the only language he spoke was Polish. She saw him when she was a little girl. A funeral notice appeared in the Chicago Tribune newspaper on 4 March 1963: "Joseph A. PIELA, beloved husband of the late Anna; dear father of Angeline OCHOCKI, Walter, Adolph, Emily, Josephine, Joseph, and Richard: father-in-law of Lottie, Beatrice, Edwin PICK, and Anton HEIDT; grandfather of five; great grandfather of five, Funeral EWednesday, March 6, at 9:30 a.m., from Woiciechowski Funeral Home, 2129 Webster avenue, to St. Hedwig church.
