HEADGOOSE, Henry (1837 or 1838-1905) aka EDINBOROUGH
According to the 1861 census of Derby Road, Alfreton, Derbyshire, Henry and Jane HEADGOOSE were listed as lodging with George and Martha COX and their two daughters. Henry was 23 years old, married, an excavator, born at Quadring, Lincolnshire.
Jane, presumably his wife but the census enumerator left room for doubt on this and other entries, was 19 years old and born at Huntingdon.
(RG9/2514/42/2)
I am of the opinion that the above Henry HEADGOOSE is synonymous with the Henry EDINBOROUGH who was lodging with Lincolnshire born John and Elizabeth SMITH at Alfreton & Nottingham Road, Alfreton, Derbyshire, in the 1871 census. Henry was 33 years old, unmarried, a railway labourer, born at Quadring in Lincolnshire. Of Jane there was no trace.
